If The Moon Fell Down Tonight - Dear Juliet

My Trip To Taiwan
Tuesday, June 17, 2008

Hey all!!

i know this is so late.. Had been quite so busy recently.. I even paused my driving lessons and all. =XX

Anyway i went over to Taiwan before sch starts! WEE together with my mummy.. just the 2 of us. Taiwan is kinda like SG. Only thing is that it is so so much bigger, AND EVERYONE SPEAKS CHINESE! Some of you might know that when i speak chinese it sounds kinda weird. *opps*

On board the plane to Taiwan, i actually saw the sunset from above... Its beautiful! i love looking at the sky.. somehow the sky can help me relate to how i am feeling.... it is as though it is watching over you and encouraging you secretly. =))

Anyway, the "HOTEL" we stayed at is super near Ximen Ding. To be exact, its like the back alley of Ximen Ding.(the ONLY + point of that hotel) It was supposed to be like a *** star hotel... But i think it might be very well worse than SG's Hotel 81 or smth.. It was realllllllyyyyy quite bad ok. There was NO proper closet, the bed was stone hard and the TV controller only works when it feels like it. The lift is like SUPER old sch!!! It is like those horror movie kind of lift. The kind that you feel might just break down anytime! My mum was like totally complaining that we should have just booked a ***** star hotel though it is a little less convienient. (She is damn used to high class hotels)

Our TOTALLY lousy 'Hotel'

Ximen Ding

Yummy breakfast on the first day just around Ximen Ding

When we were in Taiwan, the thing we do most often is TO EAT! HAHA!! yes the food there is really yummy... when we went there, all the food we tried was good! (Except the food in the foodcourt of Taipei 101) We went there free and easy and we took MRT + bus everywhere we went. It is very convieniet. We went to the hotsprings area by their MRT. As it was summer time, the weather was REALLY WARM!!! Similar to SG. It is also the first time there whereby i carried an umbrella in the day to shade myself frm the sun. ._.X

In the MRT

Jap food at Taipei 101 foodcourt.. Not as nice as it looks. =Xx

The first night, we went to Rao He Night Market. Their night markets are actually rather clean. And we had the best of the best shaved ice there!!! LOADS of strawberrys and mangos on ice WITH LOADS OF condensed milk!!! SUPER YUMMY!!! =)* Of course i also tried many many other yummy food there! HEE

Rao He Night Market

The SUPER DUPER UBER Shaved ice dessert!!

My FAVE Taiwan unhealthy snack. =Xx

Shopping there i would say is really grea! The price in Ximen Ding is similar to that n SG or maybe even more ex. My mum and i went on the craziest shopping spree when we were at "Wu Fen Pu", a wholesale shopping place. Though it is wholesale, it is actually similar to Singapore's Bugis Street. ONLY that it is SO MUCH BIGGER!! haha ROWS and MORE ROWS of small shops selling clothes. 90% for ladies! HEE

Yummy dessert at 'Wu Fen Pu'

*Remember to bring your recycle bag to put all ur shopping!*

Of course we also shopped at Taipei 101 and other shopping malls but really its just like Singapore's Ngee Ann City / Paragon. But of course in Taipei 101 there are so so many more boutiques we don't have in SG. EG: Vivienne Westwood is there!!! The Queen of PUNK! ROAR It was really quiet in 101 and not very convienient to go to. Nothing much there anyway! LOL

The most unique thing there was the HOTSPRINGS!!! HEHE we went to the Beitou hotsprings park. The water is really REALLY HOT! There is actually steam on the water surface and when the wind blows, you can really feel the heat! We went to one of the hotsprings inn there for a couple of hours to soak in the hotspring water. The hotel was so so so much better than our CAN! ROAR and it was really Shiok to soak in the warm water.. Good for the skin also! WAHAHA!!

Hotspring! Water is up to 80degrees HOT!
The hotel toilet.. whereby we fill the tub with Hotspring water and relax =))

The 2nd day onwards, it rained quite a bit so kind of spoil our plan.. But it also gave us time to do our hair! haha as I told you all, i went there to get my hair permed and my mum went to cut her hair.. total cost for permming is only S$70 and my hair is like very long.. HEE

Last pic of my straight hair. (not a nice last pic at all..)

Me and my new hairstyle! (eating my fave chicken at shilin night market)

But one horrible thing happened! Because it was raining and there was kinda human jam when going into the train station, someone used a pen knife and slit a HUGE hole in the recycle bag my mum was carrying! thank goodness nth was stolen if not we would not have anymore money + mood for enjoyment. SO BEWARE~!

As it was raining and it was rather cold at night, we tried Taiwan's Steamboat! VERY YUMMY!!!

The soup base has a mild sugarcane flavour.. And we also ordered a plate of beef tgt with other veg, and free flow of drinks, fruits, ice cream, and moodles/rice. All for less than S$20. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Anyway, the short trip there is definitely not enough.. will definitely want to go back there again! More shopping and eating.. =Xx WEEHEE
